The 2018-2019 Sutherland Cup Champion WATERLOO SISKINS are pleased to announce that Mike McIlveen will be the Head Coach of the Waterloo Siskins next season.
Mike brings the Siskins an extensive hockey background as a player and a coach. He was an assistant and video coach for the Siskins for 3 seasons. Most recently, Mike was a Regional Ontario Scout for Neutral Zone Scouting Services and provided intelligence for the OHL Draft and NCAA D1 and D3 coaches. Prior to these engagements, Mike held a variety of Head Coaching positions in minor Hockey.
Mike played in the GOJHL with the Cambridge Winterhawks and Orangeville Crushers. He then spent four years with the University of Waterloo Warriors program and an additional season with the University of Windsor Lancers during Teacher College while earning his degree in Education. He finished off his hockey career with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

The Siskins have an incredible rich history here in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and within the Junior Hockey landscape of Canada. It was an easy decision for me to be part of such a driven and committed hockey organization that spans from the hockey operations to our volunteers and supporters. My goal this year is to build on the Waterloo Siskins culture of hard work, discipline, and winning while continuing to bring an exciting brand of hockey to our amazing fans."
Todd Hoffman who has been the head coach for the Waterloo Siskins the last 4 seasons has chosen to pursue other opportunities after winning the Sutherland Cup with the Siskins last season. The Siskins organization wishes Todd all the best and thanks him for his years of loyalty and success.
